BEC Enhances SFDC Functionality for Baxi Heating During ERP Upgrade

BEC (Systems Integration) Ltd, a leading UK-based supplier of automated data capture and voice solutions for the supply chain, logistics and manufacturing industries, has recently been working with Baxi Heating to assist with the data capture and automation element of their M3 ERP upgrade.

Based in Preston, Lancashire, Baxi Heating is part of BDR Thermea, one of Europe’s largest manufacturers and distributors of domestic and commercial water heating solutions. The company recently upgraded its ERP software from Movex to Infor M3 in the UK.

As the incumbent data capture software and solution provider to Baxi Heating for a number of years, BEC worked with the company to enhance its already-implemented eSmart®SFDC (Shop Floor Data Capture) bespoke software solution within Baxi Heating in order to compliment the latest ERP upgrade. Designed to improve shop floor efficiency and reduce costs with real-time data capture at the process level, the newly-deployed edition of the eSmart®SFDC solution has helped Baxi Heating to achieve a number of new and heightened benefits as a result of the re-implementation.

Philip Jarrett, Director of Sales & Marketing at BEC comments, “As a direct result of the ERP upgrade to M3, we worked closely with Baxi Heating to bring the shop floor elements of the solution up to date. And because BEC were the original providers of the SFDC solution when it was first implemented within their business, we were asked to remodel and refine the solution that was already in place.”

Richard Beckwith, Business Development Analyst at Baxi Heating concludes, “The benefits of this upgraded solution have been numerous, including better system security and improved production line control scheduling, as well as the ability to view and manage completed or in-progress bills of materials thanks to the addition of ‘Build Sequence Management’ and ‘Production Management’ plugins which were added to the management console. As with the legacy Movex system, the new data capture solution continues to fully integrate into our new M3 ERP platform, which has the added benefit of allowing us to streamline current functionality. We are extremely pleased to have worked so closely with BEC in helping us to achieve this and look forward to continuing our close working relationship in the future.”
