One of the main problems Polyflor faced was the lack of communication between their legacy, warehouse management system and Movex/M3. This lack of interoperability often caused the company to revert to manual stock management. However, through the implementation of eSmart:datacapture, Polyflor gained an easy-to-use RF solution that provided two-way data communications with Movex/M3.
The seamlessly integrated, eSmart:datacapture solution uses Intermec CK31 handheld terminals with integrated barcode scanners and 802.11g Wi-Fi. Captured data is validated and verified against Movex/M3 in real-time, eliminating manual data entry, increasing accuracy and improving operational efficiency.
An unexpected benefit of the eSmart:datacapture solution, was that it also reduced the cleanup investigations surrounding picking errors.
